Sadbhav Engineering Limited was incorporated on October 3, 1988 as a Private company in the State of Gujarat, by Shri Vishnubhai M. Patel, engaged in the family business (run in the name of Bhavna Construction Co.), of construction field since 1968. Some of the projects successfully completed under the able guidance of Shri Vishnubhai M. Patel as a partner of Bhavna Construction Co. are – the Deo Irrigation Project, Land Development for Heavy Engineering Complex for Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), Filling Work of the Nhava Sheva Port Trust, Site Leveling Work of Rourkela Steel Plant of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) etc.

Making a modest beginning, with the passage of time, under the dynamic leadership of Shri Vishnubhai M. Patel, the business activities of the company increased manifold and it soon attained the status of ‘Deemed Public Company’ on the turn-over criteria at the end of the third financial year (1992). The company subsequently got converted into a Public Limited Company vide fresh Certificate of Incorporation dated May 17, 2001.

The company was awarded the first Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL) Canal Project in 1989-90. A proven track record of successful timely execution of the projects is the main forte of the company, which provided boost to the activities of the company by award of new projects for construction of Narmada Main Canal. The company has executed contract for three canal syphons out of the eleven canal syphons on the Narmada Main Canal across rivers Vatrak, Pushpawati and Khari. The company has also executed various projects for SSNNL.

The first mine excavation project was executed in 1992-93. Subsequently, the company was successful in winning the contract for the excavation of overburden and lignite mining at Vastan Mines of Gujarat Industries Power Corporation Limited (GIPCL), which was completed in 2003. In this area of operations, the company has successfully completed projects for various reputed organizations like Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC), Gujarat Industries Power Corporation Limited (GIPCL), Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited (GHCL), etc.

The company first started its activities in the road/construction segment in 1993 with the contract ‘Strengthening and Widening of Sambalpur-Rourkela Road from L&T’. Thereafter, the company has quite successfully completed eight other road projects – including inter alia – the NHAI awarded contract for ‘Widening to four-lane and Strengthening of existing two lane of NH-8A from Samakhiyali to Bhachau in Gujarat.’

Professionally managed under the supervision of the Board of Directors by Shri Vishnubhai M. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director, with the staff strength of 996 people, including 157 people with technical and engineering skills and experience, the company is engaged in divergent areas as roads and bridges, irrigation, and mining operations. Sadbhav has entered into a number of joint ventures with various reputed construction companies.

The present Registered Office of the company is at ‘Sadbhav House’, Opp. Law Garden Police Chowki, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad-380006, with all modern infrastructure facilities at its disposal. The company has also a centralized workshop at Ognaj, Ahmedabad for upkeep and maintenance of various construction equipments and machineries.
